  • 2. What does it mean to do an International Student Innovation Program?

    International Student Innovation Program are opportunities that allow you to gain more insight and experience within a chosen career field or vocation. For example, this may mean investing your time to assist with activities alongside a veterinarian to learn more about animal care, or perhaps shadowing a health professional in a clinic or hospital to satisfy requirements for a qualification in nursing or medicine. Interns do not replace regular employees like a normal staff member. Instead, interns can invest their time to shadow, assist, and work under the supervision of professionals within a real-world workplace. The professionals who support you during an experience help you by acting as mentors, which enhances your knowledge of a career path.

  • 3. Does the International Student Innovation Program offer compensation?

    The International Student Innovation Program does not offer compensation. Our programs are focused on experiential learning, which are designed to benefit your personal and professional development. The learning and skills that you acquire during an International Student Innovation Program should be universally transferable to a variety of employment and social settings. These are the types of skills that will build your confidence, adaptability, ability to communicate, and equip you for a resilient career over the course of your professional lifetime.

  • 4. Can I do an International Student Innovation Program remotely if I can’t travel?

    Yes, many of our international International Student Innovation Program are available as remote that you can undertake without having to travel to the host country. These programs provide you with access to the same organizations, professional supervisors as if you were being hosted locally, but with communication taking place online rather than in-person. You’ll still reap the benefits of an exceptional international abroad experience.

  • 5. Why should I International Student Innovation Program abroad instead of locally?

    All International Student Innovation Program’s abroad programs offer international experience with exciting, innovative organizations. Choosing to take on a programme in your local country won’t provide you with the same cross-cultural intelligence, global outlook and work challenges – all of which are highly desirable to employers in today’s globalized economy. You’ll also miss out on experiencing some of the incredible destinations around the world where our host organizations are located. Why not plan to enjoy the experience, see more of the world, expand your horizons, gain international networks, and receive the best outcome from the effort you’ve invested?

  • 6. Do I need to be a current student?

    It depends on the location. While some visa's require you to be a currently enrolled university student or have graduated within a year, there is no education requirement for the program. Check out the Eligibility section of each location to learn more about the specific eligibility requirements for your desired location.

  • 7. Will I have free time during my program?

    Yes! Outside of your program hours, your nights and weekends belong to you. You are free to explore your host city, country, and continent, as you’d like. International Student Innovation Program’ also offers planned social events and excursions on weekends and evenings. We encourage all of our participants to fully embrace all that each city has to offer and travel as much as possible during their free time.

  • 8. Will I have free time during my program?

  • 9. Is the application process competitive?

    Yes, we often have limited placements available in a given career field or location. We encourage you to apply and enroll early so we have time to assist you with the visa process (where needed) and find the best possible program support for you.

  • 10. Is a part time (online) program worth it?

    We think it is! The success of a part time (online) lies in the hands of the intern. This is an excellent opportunity to highlight your ability to manage your schedule and prioritize tasks for an international program. As an International Student Innovation Program’ student, you will learn how to effectively speak to future employers about what you've learned and the skills you've gained during your part time (online) program.
